Description of the picture:
Autumn landscape – Isaac Ilyich Levitan. 1890s Oil on cardboard. 13.1×18.8
The miniature sketch of the master surprises the audience with its racy and mood. If not for two bright autumn birches and a forest, visible in the distance, the landscape could well have been summer. The cold blue color of the peasant huts echoes the autumn sky, filling the work with a feeling of dampness and coolness. The greens are still bright and not without freshness. But the main mood of the sketch is given by the golden crowns of the trees. On the one hand, they give the landscape warmth and brightness, on the other hand, they clearly indicate golden autumn with its lush colorful wilting.
The work is filled with comfort and love for a simple village corner. Light, energetic brush strokes create the illusion of foliage movement, indicated clouds are torn by the wind. A dilapidated fence, a gauge country road, gray roofs – the whole composition is thought out and carefully verified.
The etiquette of the work is guessed in a fuzzy look, "unpainted" small details. The work admires the exact perspective and color variety."
